First time as an exhibitor at the Webwinkel Vakdagen

Last June, we were asked if we’d like to have a stand this year at the Webwinkel Vakdagen: the biggest e-commerce event in the Benelux. Although we’ve only been operating as Traffic Today for 1.5 years, we saw this as a wonderful opportunity for our company. Of course, we’d already visited the event a few times as attendees and had gained a good impression of what such a trade fair entails, but being an exhibitor involves a whole lot more…

A new adventure

The day before was a bit hectic, but when the big moment arrived, we were fully prepared. The stand looked fantastic, we were all wearing eye-catching, stylish hoodies, and most importantly, we were really looking forward to it. At 10.00 am, the first visitors began arriving at the trade fair and we were able to provide them with useful information, tailored online marketing advice and a hot cup of coffee.

Valuable encounters

As we’d never been an exhibitor at the Webwinkel Vakdagen before, we went in with a bit of a blank slate. We weren’t quite sure what to expect, but it’s always good to put your business in the spotlight. The first day was a huge success. It seemed as though everyone wanted to know more about our company. Business cards were exchanged regularly and LinkedIn connections were made.

It’s the tone that makes the music

But how do you actually stand out as an exhibitor amongst all those other e-commerce companies? This is a question we gave a great deal of thought to beforehand. To put our stand in the spotlight, we chose to hire the Mash Machine from Interactive Concept. An interactive music installation that drew plenty of visitors to our stand. There was no music to be heard anywhere else around us, so this proved to be a successful addition to our stand.

Spraypay

One interesting conversation that has personally stuck with me was about the SprayPay service. We spoke to Willem Libourel, who told me about the possibilities of instalment payments for online shops. This is a payment method that allows consumers to pay their bill in up to 36 instalments. The online shop owner receives the full purchase amount within 30 days. By offering this payment method, the online shop expands its target audience, resulting in an increase in turnover. As we are constantly looking for ways to boost conversion rates for our e-commerce clients, Libourel’s story caught our attention and we immediately approached a few clients to test the service. The results will no doubt follow soon, and we’ll certainly be in touch again then.

A new adventure and experience

To sum up, we’ve had a few fantastic days, and Traffic Today our staff have gained another wonderful new experience. We’d like to take this opportunity to thank everyone who contributed to this once again!
