As of today, LinkedIn has started testing a ‘Stories’ feature for LinkedIn users in the Netherlands. Dutch LinkedIn users are the first in Europe to be able to test this new feature. This makes the Netherlands the second country worldwide where LinkedIn Stories is available. The feature was already introduced in Brazil last month.
Any regular social media user will be familiar with ‘Stories’: these are short posts that disappear from the timeline after 24 hours. This feature is quite popular on platforms such as Instagram, Facebook and YouTube, and LinkedIn is now capitalising on this too. According to LinkedIn, the feature is intended to bring a more human touch to the platform: “LinkedIn Stories makes it possible to offer a glimpse behind the scenes of day-to-day work, to share sources of inspiration, to give other entrepreneurs a platform, or simply to share knowledge and practical tips.”
Naturally, you’ll want to experience for yourself how it works. When you go to your LinkedIn timeline, a bar labelled ‘Stories’ will appear at the top. Click on the ‘+’ next to ‘Your story’. You can then create your own story and share it with your followers. Choose a photo or video and, if you like, get creative by adding text or stickers. Please note: the LinkedIn Stories feature is only available via the app. We’ve tested the new feature ourselves, but unfortunately not everyone has access to it yet. To be continued...
